Congers woman constructs kid-friendly face masks

A Rockland County resident is spending her free time designing do-it-yourself children's face coverings.

A Rockland County resident is spending her free time designing do-it-yourself children's face coverings.
Sam Curbelo, of Congers, is an Etsy expert and makes personalized masks that can be decorated with fabric markers.
The masks are reusable, washable, and can be colored more than once.
Curbelo tells News 12 the idea dawned on her while doing a project with her daughter.
“Her dad came home, and she was so excited to show it to him. And I was like ‘Oh my God,’ this is how we’re going to do it,” she recalls. “I’m going to let her create her own mask, and she’ll be really proud of it and hopefully want to show it off and want to keep it on…”
