The dust is still settling in Putnam County after one of this year's most contentious races ended in a major upset Tuesday night.
Putnam District Attorney Adam Levy was unsuccessful in his bid for a third consecutive term in office.
Levy got 43 percent of the vote, while fellow Republican and Putnam Valley Supervisor Bob Tendy got 57 percent of the vote.
When News 12 caught up with Tendy, he was already at work on his plans to reshape the DA's office.
He says he will have already resolved one issue on day one of the job -- a working relationship with Putnam Sheriff Don Smith.
The icy relationship between Smith and Levy took center stage during the campaign and at last month's debate on News 12.
Tendy says he's also hoping to meet with current DA staff in the next few weeks to begin the transition process.
