A SUNY Purchase student accused of painting swastikas on a dorm wall appeared before a judge today, and his attorney requested the case be adjourned for a month.

According to police, 18-year-old Raymond Turchioe, of Manhattan, drew the anti-Semitic symbols in Farside Dormitory at about 3 a.m. on March 17.

Investigators say several anonymous tips lead them to the student, and when they brought him in for questioning, he admitted to the drawings.

Police are also investigating more renderings including painted nooses and offensive messages on campus buildings. The Westchester County District Attorney's Office's Bias Crime Unit has been investigating the graffiti with SUNY Purchase police. Turchioe is only charged in connection with the swastikas.

Turchioe was charged with first-degree aggravated harassment -- a felony. He was arraigned in Harrison Town Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail. Turchioe's uncle, who appeared with the suspect in court today, posted his $15,000 bail.

Turchioe is due back in town court on April 28.
