There are growing concerns about the measles outbreak and how the illness is spreading from Rockland to both Orange and Westchester counties.
New cases of the measles are being reported in at least two Hudson Valley communities.
The Orange County Health Department says a shopper infected with measles visited Woodbury Common Premium outlets on Sunday, March 31.
They say if you visited the Nike Factory Store or Sayki Men's Fashion Store that day between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., you may have been exposed.
In Westchester, officials confirm eight children, including six siblings, now have measles.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer says the children are from northern Westchester, in the Bedford and Mount Kisco areas.
They range in ages from 6 months to 14 years old. Two have been hospitalized. None of them attend public schools or child care. They do attend a private school.
News 12 has learned that they were exposed in Rockland and Brooklyn, where there are ongoing outbreaks.
In Rockland, the number of confirmed cases stands at 180 since the outbreak in October.
Two religious holidays are approaching, Passover and Easter, and many families will be traveling and coming together to observe.
Westchester County Health Commissioner Dr. Sherlita Amler says the best way to prevent the spread of the virus is vaccination. She says there are enough vaccines available and people can get free vaccinations through the county or their health provider. "If you're born after 1957, you need to know your vaccine status and if you haven't been vaccinated, you can't find the records, just get the vaccine. We're happy to give it to you for free," says Dr. Amler.
