After almost three months of dry weather, the weather pattern is changing, and we will have numerous changes of wet weather through the 10-day forecast.
A storm on Thursday will bring some heavy rain and gusty winds. Some minor street flooding is possible during the Thursday morning rush. The rain will start between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Thursday and be moderate to heavy at times through 10 a.m. On and off showers, with a few pockets of heavier showers into Friday morning. If, the cold air can crash fast enough over Long Island, we do have a chance of some snow mixing with the rain.
Parts of the storm will be lingering, and we will still see the threat of showers through Saturday. Strong winds of 35 to 45 mph will persist through Friday and because of the drought trees and vegetation is compromised and we could see downed trees leaning to power outages. Please be alert and use caution.
