The Connecticut Department of Transportation was at Norwalk City Hall Tuesday night to update the public on plans to rebuild the Route 7 Merritt Parkway interchange.
The project has been years in the making, first delayed by a lawsuit and then the recession.
"Obviously Route 7 and the Merritt Parkway is an incomplete interchange so one of this is about system linkages and making those final connections, the other aspect of this is the mobility through the intersection for vehicles and bike and pedestrians,” says John F. Eberle with Stantec Consulting Services. “That's a critical element out here and then safety."
The project is also expected to cover the Main Avenue interchange all the way to the Merritt.
