New York City commuters could be forced to shell out even more money to travel.
State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli is warning of another MTA fare hike if the MTA doesn't close its $15 billion budget gap.
DiNapoli estimates that for every $1 billion borrowed, there could be a one-percent increase in fares and tolls.
However, DiNapoli added that the transportation agency has been doing better financially.
