State Sen. David Carlucci, of Rockland, is throwing his hat in the ring for a seat in Congress, multiple sources say.
Sources have confirmed to News 12 that Sen. Carlucci has officially decided to run for the seat being vacated by Rep. Nita Lowey.
Carlucci is expected to make it official on Monday.
Two Democrats have already announced their candidacies for the seat, including Rockland County Attorney Mondaire Jones and Westchester Assemblyman David Buchwald.
As News 12 has reported, Lowey announced earlier this month that she won’t run for re-election after serving for more than three decades.
