Police say five luxury cars were stolen from a parking garage in Gowanus. Police say it happened after 5:15 a.m. Sunday at the parking garage on President Street.
They say they got a 911 call stating that someone saw four men removing luxury cars from the garage, and that they entered through the side door.
Police say a black Mercedes-Benz G-Class, a black BMW, a blue Range Rover, a white Audi and a grey Audi were stolen.
Sources say not far from there, on Sackett Street, a Range Rover was stolen from a parking garage. Sources close to the investigation tell News 12 they believe the incidents could possibly be connected.
News 12 crews on scene observed that the side door access to the garage is inside the adjacent apartment buildings, which one would need access to get into the building if the door was locked.
Residents like Sidiki Conde say it's concerning.
"It makes me scared sometime because I'm thinking the building has so much security. They have a camera everywhere and people are working 24 hours. I don't know how," said Conde.
A spokesperson for the building told News 12 in a statement, "The safety of our residents is our number one priority. As such, we've taken additional security measures and are fully cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate."
Police say as of Tuesday evening, no arrests have been made.
