Helicopter lands on football field at Stamford High School

A helicopter landed on the football field at Stamford High School Tuesday evening.

It's not clear why the chopper was there or what caused it to land but police could be seen surrounding the aircraft.

The tail number on the plane is registered to Wings Air Helicopters, a charter company based in West Harrison, New York.

Police confirmed to News 12 that a helicopter did land, but said further information would come from Federal Aviation Administration.

News 12 has reached out to the FAA and Wings Air but have not heard back.
