A major road project is underway on I-95 in Westchester County and is expected to last about a year.

The work is part of a larger investment totaling nearly $200 million across three projects from the Bronx to Westchester.

About $39.7 million is being used to repair and resurface I-95 in both directions between Mamaroneck and Rye.

On the northbound side, construction runs from just past Exit 18 at Fenimore Road to just before Exit 20 at Route 1 South in Rye.

Southbound work stretches from before Exit 18B at Mamaroneck Avenue to Exit 18.

Officials say most of the work will take place overnight to limit disruptions.

However, drivers can still expect lane closures and possible stops during construction.

Speed cameras are also being used in some work zones as part of a pilot program aimed at improving worker safety.

Officials say drivers who exceed the posted speed limit in these zones may receive fines by mail.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
