Rev. Al Sharpton led a rally Saturday with the family and friends of Sean Bell protesting the not-guilty verdict from the trial of the cops responsible for his death.
Michael Oliver, Gescard Isnora and Marc Cooper were cleared of all charges in Bell?s 2006 slaying Friday. Sharpton criticized both the judge and the acquittal from the case as he spoke.
?He robbed us of our rights,? said Sharpton.
Bell was shot 50 times in November of 2006 while leaving his bachelor party in Queens.
The attorney for Bell?s family will continue to pursue the case as a violation of federal civil rights. Legal experts say that could be an uphill battle and the family could be better served by pursuing a civil lawsuit against New York City and the officers.
