Motorists in the City of Newburgh should be aware of traffic updates affecting their routes.

Starting today, Washington Street is closed to all traffic between Water Street and Colden Street/Washington Place.

This closure is due to ongoing construction related to the city's North Interceptor Sewer Project. Drivers are advised to follow detour signs or seek alternate routes when possible.

Encouraging news for drivers, the city has reopened two other streets. Second Street, between Water Street and Montgomery Street, and South William Street, between Water Street and Liberty Street, are now accessible.
