A Rockland County woman is hoping for information that will lead to an arrest after her father was hit by a car and left behind on Saturday.
Emily Catsaros tells News 12 that the accident left her father in critical condition.
The 59-year-old man identified as Gregory Catsaros was riding his bicycle along Laurel Road in New City when he was struck by a vehicle.
“He flew off his bike, landed on his back and he has five fractures in his spine,” explains Catsaros.
The cyclist is expected to walk again but is experiencing severe pain.
Catsaros is calling the accident inhumane. “How can you leave someone?” she asked.
Clarkstown police are actively searching for the driver and say the vehicle is a silver or light blue crossover, that may or may not be damaged on the front end.
Although Catsaros had to spend Father’s Day hospitalized, his daughter says the best gift she can give him now is justice.
“We know it happened and that you’re out there…We’re not going to stop looking," says Catsaros.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Clarkstown police at 845-639-5800.
