The heavy rains couldn?t dampen the show of Irish pride on the streets of White Plains Saturday. Although attendance was lower than usual, many braved the wet weather to be a part of White Plains? 11th annual St. Patrick?s Day parade. The frequent downpours kept many people from lining the streets to watch the celebration. Instead, spectators chose to huddle under tents and umbrellas in front of restaurants and bars.As the parade made its way down Mamaroneck Avenue, people watched and said the tradition is an important part of their Irish heritage. While the weather could have been better for a parade, there was still plenty of Irish pride in the city to keep the mood upbeat.
