Authorities say a Connecticut man faces charges of enticing a 13-year-old on social media to engage in sexual activity with him.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says 20-year-old Francisco Javi Gomez was arrested following a collaborative effort with Homeland Security agents and the Rockland County District Attorney's Office.
When they confronted Gomez on April 3, he attempted to evade capture by ramming his vehicle into undercover and unmarked police cars.
He was arrested after investigators deployed a spike strip, which immobilized his vehicle.
Gomez faces charges that include attempted rape.
