Five Democrats are competing for the chance to face Republican Rep. Mike Lawler in November.

Candidates include Army veteran Cait Conley and Rockland County Legislator Beth Davidson.

Tarrytown Trustee Effie Phillips-Staley, former journalist Mike Sacks and Air Force veteran John Cappello are also on the ballot.

The district covers all of Rockland and Putnam counties, the northern half of Westchester County and parts of southern Dutchess County.
