Putnam County's consumer affairs director has resigned after pleading guilty to stealing county funds.
Jean Noel, of Kent, admitted to stealing over $4,500, according to the state Attorney General's Office.
The 64-year-old took the money from local contractors to satisfy county-issued fines.
In addition to resigning, Noel must pay back the money she took and pay back a portion of her salary.
