Police were called to a home in Soundview this morning after reports of a suspicious package.
The incident happened around 11:00 a.m. on Ward Avenue where police say there was a suspicious package in the basement of a building.
The fire department and police were all on the scene, but they say it was a false alarm.
A resident who lives in the neighborhood told News 12 The Bronx police came to her home and told her to evacuate because there could be a bomb in the area.
There is no word yet on what was inside the package.
