Ulster police say they were responding to a welfare check Thursday when they found Anthony Roberts dead inside the home.
Police say further investigation identified the suspect as Brian Roberts, 26, who was located walking on Neighborhood Road shortly after the victim was found.
Investigators say Anthony Roberts was Brian Roberts' father.
Brian Roberts was taken into custody and is being held without bail in the Ulster County Jail.
