Two people have been arrested in Poughkeepsie after allegedly impersonating U.S. Marshals in a scam that led to a large cash handoff.
Police said Yi Liu and Guo Chen contacted their victim last Monday, claiming to be federal agents and convincing the person to hand over a large amount of money in person.
The pair were arrested days later after the victim realized it was a scam.
Police are urging the public to report any suspicious activity immediately.
