State Sen. David Carlucci said the stabbings happened at a rabbi's home.
"I stand with the Jewish community in this time of grief and pray for those injured and their families," he said in a statement.
The stabbings happened on the seventh night of Hanukkah in a community that is home to a large Hasidic Jewish population. The violence comes amid a string of anti-Semitic attacks in New York City, where police have said they're stepping up patrols -- and just weeks after a deadly shooting at a kosher market in New Jersey.
