The Pine Bush School District will pay $4.5 million to former students who say they were subjected to anti-Semitic behavior.
In a highly emotional and intense hearing, a judge approved the settlement. Five former and current students of the district had said they were harassed while the school district looked the other way.
While the settlement has been approved, the district must still enhance its policies on harassment, bullying and discrimination and must document every case of harassment.
