The fallout from the federal probe into whether attorney general candidate Jeanine Pirro eavesdropped on her husband she suspected of cheating is crossing political lines.
Fellow Republican Rudy Giuliani pulled out of a planned fundraiser for Pirro set for early next month. However, Governor George Pataki (R-NY) says the U.S. attorney needs to put his cards on the table regarding the wiretapping allegations against Pirro before Election Day. Pirro?s allies are calling for a speedy resolution to a matter they say is between a husband and wife.
Assemblyman Adam Bradley (D-White Plains) discounts Pirro's assertion that the U.S attorney's probe is politically motivated, but says he regrets the impact on her family. Most politicians, either Democrat or Republican, say Pirro and the public deserve to know whether she'll really be charged with a crime sooner rather than later. Pirro has stated that she has no plans on pulling out of the race for state attorney general.
