Pace University has suspended one of the its star athletes.

In a statement, the university says that senior Tyler Owens is no longer serving as a captain of the football team and will not be participating in football activities until the school finishes its investigation into a purported picture of Owens.

The photo appears to show Owens dressed in a Confederate flag, making a Nazi salute. The caption in the photo reads "grand wizard," which could be a Ku Klux Klan reference.

Pace University says that it does not tolerate improper discrimination of any kind

The picture was allegedly taken three years ago, and was uploaded to the social media app Snapchat last weekend.

Owens is still attending classes.
