An Ossining barber is hanging up his scissors after about 59 years in the business.

Gino Anelli, 75, is passing the baton to his son, Michael. "It's about time to do other things," says the senior Anelli. After decades of hard work at the business, Gino's Barbershop, he says he may take electronics classes or travel.

Anelli emigrated from Italy as a teenager. "When I got off the boat, I was 16," he says. "The guy wanted to know what I had in my suitcase. I had scissors."

Anelli has stayed abreast of the latest styling trends over the years. That includes what he describes as "hippies and long hair." Through it all, he has tried to provide good customer service.

His clientele has been faithful and customers say they are sad to see him retire.
