A state senator is calling for a criminal investigation into what he says was an alleged sweetheart deal for the brother in law of an Orange County official, Ar Blaise Gomez has the latest from Goshen. It's a growing scandal filled with a paper trail of five figure payouts and no bid contracts deeply unethical, allegedly, criminal web of lies, deceit and corruption, alleged corruption tied to a deal for the brother in law of the Orange County executive's right hand man in charge of hiring Langdon Chapman. Chapman and his co conspirators engaged in a no bid scheme all towards one singular goal. The theft of taxpayer funds. Senator James Skus says the county handed up bogus bids from other companies and skirted public bidding laws by giving Chapman's brother in law Isaac Sakic small payments totaling more than $800,000 for it services in auto renewed contracts to avoid raising red flags. Skuas says Sako's company, Star Cio has a business address tied to Sako's Westchester home. The allegedly went in foreclosure the same time he started getting paid by the county in January. Sakic says Skuas is wrong and sent news 12 an email saying his house was paid off in 2021 and that he has nothing to hide the allegations. Implicate a number of high ranking officials here and are being referred to several agencies for criminal investigation. We believe the facts are beyond damning. Orange County top attorney is shooting down allegations of wrongdoing after several lawmakers questioned a no bid contract for the relative of another high ranking county official, Richard Golden tells news 12 that the it services contract with Star C IO and its owner, Isaac Sakic had nothing to do with Langdon Chapman and was fully legal. Chapman is Saki's brother in law and the commissioner of human resources for the county. Golden says that two other companies were considered before Star Cio was chosen and that the county has done business with relatives of employees before somebody could say they don't like that and I can understand that. But if they don't like it, then the rules should be changed so that we're not just one off saying, well, I don't like it in this instance, but I think it's ok. In another instance, three county legislators first raised concerns with the no bid contract last week. And Senator James Goofus says the contract is a quote corrupt taxpayer funded, betrayal of constituents in essence called on Chapman to resign
