A driver is now wanted after leaving the scene of a hit-and-run incident on the Bruckner Expressway that left a 1-month-old passenger in critical condition.
The baby was pulled out from a flipped car that was struck on the westbound side of the Bruckner near the Castle Hill Avenue exit.
Police say a black sedan struck another vehicle on the Bruckner at around 6 p.m., and two people were seen getting out of the car that hit the other vehicle. The 1-month-old baby was conscious and alert when found in the crash, but remains in serious condition.
“We heard the loud bang, we left the house quick to see what happened,” said local resident Sonia. “It was a black car that hit another car, then we saw the guy after the accident, he got out of the car and started running.”
That suspect remains on the run, as police are still actively putting together the pieces of the investigation. No one is in police custody at this time.
