The first confirmed case of Ebola in New York City has hit very close to home for many in the Hudson Valley.
Infectious diseases specialist Dr. Peter Berkey says that while the appearance of Ebola in New York City was bound to happen, stopping the spread of the disease can be achieved if everyone comes to understand how it is spread. Berkey says Ebola is only transmitted through direct contact with blood and bodily fluids.
Though doctors are urging New Yorkers not to panic, they say that now more than ever, everyone should get a flu shot as a preventative health measure.
