A group of nuns in Rockland is putting on its running shoes to help raise money for their convent.

The Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt are now getting ready to hold their 3rd Annual 5K "Nun Run."

Organizers say about a dozen nuns take the trek, alongside supporters and members of the community.
The event will be held on May 13.

The sisters are saying it’s time to register. "The sisters who live here love sitting out and cheering on the runners. Some of our sisters do participate, but it's good interaction for our community and the congregation!" says Sister Michaela Connolly.

The Dominican Sisters hope to raise $5,000 this year.
