Andrew Crispo, a New York art dealer who was implicated but never charged in a notorious Rockland County murder, has passed away at the age of 78 last month, according to reports citing his attorney.

The murder, which gained worldwide attention, occurred in 1985 when Crispo and Bernard Legeros met a 26-year-old student at a Manhattan club. They then went to the Stony Point estate owned by Legeros' parents, where the student was shot, and his body was subsequently burned.

The victim's identity was only discernible due to his face being covered by a mask when found.

Legeros was convicted and served 33 years before being paroled in 2019. Crispo's role in the incident remained a subject of speculation, as he was never formally charged in connection with the murder.
