A Croton mother has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the death of her 6-year-old daughter Lacey Carr last April.

Kathleen Dymes, 52, pleaded guilty to the felony charge of criminally negligent homicide and misdemeanor charges of child endangerment and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Carr was found unresponsive on Easter Sunday in her bed at her grandfather's home on Hastings Avenue.

Dymes was unconscious on the floor next to the bed. They were both rushed to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, where Lacey was pronounced dead.

Toxicology tests performed on the first-grader revealed that a number of different drugs were present in her, including Benadryl, morphine and diazepam.

Dymes was a registered nurse, and may be suffering from her own addiction.

Dymes could have gotten four years in jail but Westchester County Judge Barbara Zambelli thought that was excessive for what she termed an "accident."

In a plea deal with the prosecution, Dymes is expected to receive a sentence of probation in the case. If Dymes does not meet with her probation officer or show up for her sentencing in April for any reason, the judge promised to sentence her to jail time.
