Employees of Montefiore Medical Center received flu shots Wednesday, and the hospital plans to provide swine flu vaccines when they arrive.
Montefiore's health services office launched what it is calling a flu shot "stationary pod" for the third year in a row. But this year the city's Health Department is requiring all hospital employees, whether they work with patients or not, to get immunized.
"Health care workers have to have immunity and have to be healthy, so they can take care of patients and not harm them," says Dr. Michela Catalano.
