The controversial plan to expand Kiryas Joel once again created a chaotic situation at last night's Monroe town board meeting.
Public comments turned into heated exchanges when Monroe Town Supervisor Harley Doles interrupted numerous speakers. Doles claims the speakers were talking about off-agenda topics, which is against the Town of Monroe Board's rules.
Crowd members were told their comments would not be heard and were not pleased. Some disagreed, saying the agenda is vague and that speakers were being stifled. "Mr. Doles! You cut me off so many times. I reserve the right to speak my peace," demanded Anthony Faisano.
Supervisor Doles repeatedly said people who had off-agenda questions could talk with him or other board members one on one.
