Commuters are finding it's harder to sit down on Metro-North trains lately as ridership is up.
Officials say the railroad expects to set a record for its total number of passengers this year.
About 630,000 more people rode the rails through the end of July 2015 than during the same period in 2014.
Railroad officials attribute the gain to increased employment in New York City.
Tickets cost about $300 a month to commute from the Tarrytown station into Manhattan, which is cheaper and faster than driving, residents say.
