Mercy College is back open after students were evacuated for a bomb scare on Tuesday.
According to school officials, a threatening call aimed at Mercy's four campuses came into the Yorktown offices around 4:20 p.m.
Hundreds of students and staff were then evacuated from the Dobbs Ferry, Yorktown, Bronx and Manhattan campuses. For three hours, students had to stay away from their dorms and classrooms.
County and local police swarmed all the schools searching for any signs of danger, but nothing was found and the threat was determined to be a hoax. "They searched every corner of the campus, all the buildings, the dorms, everything and we found no threat and campuses are safe," says Mercy College spokesperson Catherine Cioffi.
Classes and activities were canceled last night, but everything resumed today as police continue to investigate.
