An iconic soccer shop on Long Island is closing its doors for good.
The Massapequa Soccer Shop is closing its doors for good after over half a century.
The Bodenstein family started the family business in 1973. In the 1970s, soccer mom Fay Bodenstein started the small business in her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Bodenstein then turned it into their full-time brick-and-mortar store.
They say they are closing because it’s time for retirement, but co-owner Helen Fishman says leaving it behind doesn’t come without some tears.
The Massapequa Soccer Shop will close for good on June 30.
