Yonkers first responders hit the ice for a good cause this weekend.
The Yonkers police and fire departments held their 27th annual charity hockey game at the EJ Murray Skating Center.
Proceeds went to the Matthew Wallace Foundation, which supports community programs, scholarships, and meals for underserved families, officials said. The firefighters won 7-2, authorities noted.
"It's a great rivalry between the two jobs," said Joe Golusinski of Yonkers Engine Co. 306. Both teams enjoyed a barbecue after the game.
