Mask mishap: Minisink Valley elementary students told to wear masks while chewing lunch

A mask mishap at Minisink Valley Elementary School is getting the district some unwanted attention this week.
District parents say elementary school students were told to wear masks Monday at lunch while chewing their food.
Monday was the first day of Minisink’s four-day return for all students.
The district says the mishap was just that, as it irons out "return to school" kinks, but parents say they’re not sure why kids were told to wear masks while eating in the first place.
District officials say there is no policy instructing students to wear masks at lunch and never was, stressing the incident was a “glitch” in their new routine.
