Officials have revealed new details in the armed robbery of a Mount Vernon gas station last month, including one of the suspects.

It happened early on Aug. 29, when officials say Jamaire Robertson, 28, and another suspect exited a vehicle in the Bronx and walked on foot to a gas station on Mount Vernon Avenue.

Authorities say Robertson and the second suspect unveiled a gun and “violently robbed” the gas station attendant, stealing around $600 from the victim and took their wallet.

Robertson and the other suspect went separate ways, with authorities saying Robertson sought cover near the Mount Vernon-Bronx border.

Police officers soon after spotted Robertson and tried to approach him, but he fired shots from his handgun and fled, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Robertson allegedly left his gun and a sweatshirt at the scene

Authorities say Robertson was seen on security footage entering his apartment building about an hour after the robbery, where he also allegedly threw out some of his clothing down a trash chute.

Robertson, a Jamaican national, was later arrested and faces two robbery charges and a firearms charge. He faces up to 40 years for the robbery charges and a minimum of 10 years for the firearms charge.
