OK, that time of the week, time for Main Street, Connecticut. News 12 is checking out all the hot spots for Father's Day shopping in Dairy Ann. Our Mark Sudall is a Trifi custom golf, and we're swinging into the weekend with a hole in one we hope for Dad Mark. Yeah, Becky, I'm working on my, uh, my putting game here. You're sued all at 18 at the Travelers for the win. Get in the hole. Yeah. Oh, that felt good. Hey, joining me this morning. Is the man Darren Anderson, thank you so much for being with us for coming in. So tell us about all the great stuff you have here as we walk in and see the shop. We have a full custom shop. We do fittings, lessons, all sorts of stuff like that. We do repairs. We sell bags, balls, shoes. Uh, you can come in, you can browse the store, you can just buy something or you can get fit set up with an appointment and get fit. We do all that stuff by custom if you want drivers, irons, putters, wedges. So what is the rule of thumb here when you're trying to size somebody up for for a driver, let's say you're going to measure some dynamics of what they do, the matrix we use the launch monitor in here. We'll go and take a look at that and it tells us all the stuff that they're doing. With the golf club in their hand, whether they're hitting it high, low, right, left, and we can sometimes make adjustments accordingly and hopefully get them to hit it straighter. That's the goal. That's not always possible, but we're at the mercy of what the golfer gives us. That's right. That's right. So we know it's Father's Day this weekend. Are you going to see a lot more people coming in? Yeah, we get, we get a Father's Day rush, a lot of balls, gloves, some putters, wedges, typically, a lot of gift certificates. You know, they come in, they get a gift certificate for fitting for their father, and they come in and get fitted for the club that they need because it's hard to buy clubs sometimes because you don't know what somebody needs. You want to set me up here to one. With the driver and um while we're doing that uh I mean look, this is not an easy game we all know this is a difficult game. it's easy. Why, why do people keep coming back? It's addicting. It's, it's good because you hit that one good shot that keeps bringing you back. That's it, yeah. So you get uh. Oh let's get it to you that you get that one good shot. Well, let's see, and it's all set up and ready to go. You're gonna take a swing. All right, I'm gonna take, I don't know how much time I got here, but I'm gonna take a, a swing here. All right, that's just gonna, there you go, probably roll and roll and roll. So what's gonna happen now? 10. It's gonna give me, it's gonna give me all these readings over here. Yeah, I went 150 yards. Sounds good to me. I don't play golf. It wasn't a big golf swing, but it was enough. Now I'm a baseball player. I don't swing golf clubs. I don't know. You've done pretty well, Mark.

Mark, we're diving into the weekend with some fishing gear for Dad. We did golf. Now we're doing some fishing. Yeah, well, I got the gear on myself, Becky. You can see here the vest. I got the, the waiters here ready to go. Yeah, the Complete Anglers open 7 days a week. They're right here on the Post Road next to the Dairy and Diner. They used to be down in the center of town here years ago, but 30 years in business, pretty good for any, uh, small business. I got some, uh, stuff I gotta check out here for my dad collection. Which is awesome. I want you to meet Scott Bennett. He's the man behind all of this. Thank you so much for being with us this morning. Now, of course, we think about fishing and Father's Day and, you know, the derbies and things like that, but you really specialize in fly fishing and we're going to follow you down here to uh all the flies you have here to show us and I mean, it's just amazing. If you've never seen flies, and I got to experience some of this in upstate New York with fly fishing, which is an art in itself. Look at all the different flies that you can use on your rods, and most of these are to catch what kinds of fish. This is all trout fishing pretty much this, this area, but we've got flies to fish for just about anything you want to fish for. I mean, we got people doing saltwater, traveling. South tarpon bonefish, tuna, I mean, it's kind of endless possibilities. Now show us if you go around here, you can show us some of the, the salt water ones you have over there. I know Kenny's gonna kill me because it's kind of by the window here, but, so, uh, you know, specifically more salt is gonna be like this sort of stuff imitating minnows and baitfish and. Crabs and shrimp, I mean, it's again, depending on what you're fishing for, you can kind of tailor it to whatever species you're targeting. Now what is it about fishing that that people love just, you know, for for the fly guys it tends to be just relaxation and just solitude and just. Fun, right? I mean, it's something to do. And what are, what are some of the spots? Uh, well, locally, you know, you've got the Catskills, a couple of hours, uh, you know, close by this time of year you got the Norwalk River, the Sagauck. I mean, there's some decent fishing within 1520 minutes, really saltwater, you got, you know, striped bass, bluefish. So it depends on your budget and time frame, but there's opportunities close by and. Now Scott was so nice to, uh, give me this, uh, well, he's not giving it to me, but he's letting me use this fly fishing rod here, um, and, uh, yeah, uh, I'm gonna have to do a little work, I think, on this, but thank you so much for being with us, Becky. I mean, we always think about what golf and fishing for Father's Day. It's just such, such a special time of the year. Yeah, and that's solitude is got brought up. That's key for dads.
