Annual holiday traditions may look a bit different this year due to COVID-19, but the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting and the annual Ball Drop in NYC will still take place, albeit virtually. 

NBC's "Christmas from Rockefeller Center" will be televised live on Dec. 2 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be no public access. 

The 75-foot-tall Norway spruce, which came from Oneonta, New York, arrived at Rockefeller Center last weekend. 

Visiting hours to see the tree are daily from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. On Christmas Day, the lights on the tree will shine for a full 24 hours. On Dec. 31, visiting hours are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The annual Times Square ball drop will also take place but will be a virtual event. 

Organizers of the New Year’s Eve celebration say it will be a virtually enhanced celebration that brings Times Square and the ball to you digitally no matter where you are. They say it will feature scaled-back and socially distanced live elements still to be determined and an extremely limited group of in-person socially distanced honorees who will reflect the themes, challenges and inspirations of 2020.
