Iran has denied being involved with a cyberattack against a dam in Rye Brook and dozens of banks in the United States, according to a statement released Saturday.
The statement delivered by an Iranian government spokesman said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has never had dangerous cyber actions on its agenda and does not support such measures."
The 2013 cyberattack, partially took over control of the Bowman Avenue Dam, which is used to reduce flooding of residential homes in Indian Village.
At the time of the alleged intrusion, the dam was undergoing renovations and partially shut down.
Seven Iranians were indicted in connection to the incident. All of the suspects remain on the loose, and the head of the FBI says that arresting them will be difficult.
