A woman from Ulster County is facing a prison sentence after being involved in two separate crashes while driving under the influence of drugs. Nancy Naccarato, a resident of Ulster, has pleaded guilty to two aggravated vehicular assault felonies, according to the district attorney's office. The first crash occurred in December 2022 when Naccarato crossed a double yellow line on Route 209 in Wa-Warsing. She struck a pedestrian on the side of the road, causing serious injuries to the victim. Two months later, Naccarato was involved in another collision on Route 209 in Marbletown. Again crossing the double yellow lines, she collided head-on with another vehicle. The driver of the car and her 6-year-old daughter sustained serious injuries in the crash. As a result of her actions, Naccarato has been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.

An Ulster County volunteer firefighter is currently recovering after being struck by a car while directing traffic. According to state police, the incident occurred on Sawkill Ruby Road. The firefighter was subsequently transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

Enrico Sarli, a Carmel man charged with animal cruelty for allegedly beating a Canada goose to death, may see the charges dropped. Investigators discovered that the goose had initially been struck by a golf ball at the Putnam County Golf Course in Mahopac. Witnesses reported that the goose was in extreme pain as a result. Allegedly, Sarli then used a golf club to strike the goose several times in an attempt to end its suffering. If Sarli stays out of trouble for six months, and makes a $500 contribution to the Putnam County Humane Society, the charges against him will be dropped.
