Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
The Mahopac Falls dive team was called to a lake along South Lake Boulevard over the weekend after a car crashed into the icy waters. They say the vehicle was about 25-feet from shore in approximately 10-feet of ice-cold water. When divers got to it, they say no one was inside. The vehicle was removed from the lake.
The cause of a fire in Port Chester on Sunday has still not been released. Firefighters were called to a building on North Main Street where they say flames broke out on the second floor. Because of the size of the building and weather conditions, authorities labeled this a second alarm fire. No injuries have been reported.
Ulster County deputies are investigating a single-vehicle accident in Kerhonkson that caused a significant propane leak. Police say the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday near Dollar General on Route 209. They found the passenger vehicle had struck a utility pole, along with the valve to an underground propane tank. The driver, a woman from Staten Island, was not injured. Officials were able to shut down the leak safely.
