The harbor seal was spotted on the shores of Emeline Park on the evening of Feb. 14.

Environmental groups say the animals have been in the river previously, so there's no reason to be worried.

Advocates want to remind the public that if they see a seal to not get too close, do not feed them and report it to the New York Marine Rescue Center.
