A groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new high-rise building in downtown New Rochelle.
The construction is the city’s latest effort to revitalize the downtown area. The 27-story mixed used located at 14 LeCount Place will house 380 units, 25% of them deemed affordable housing.
Developers say a favorite feature of the luxury apartments is the roof.
"It’s a light feature at the top of the building that will be lit up at night, that will sort of give a crown to this building, so it'll be visible from afar,” says Katherine Kelman of L+M Development Partners.
News 12 was told some of the amenities prospective residents can expect are lounges, an outdoor pool and a nice view of the Long Island Sound and New York City.
