A Bronx food blogger is offering tips on how to assemble a quick and healthy bite for those on the go.
Angela Robeles, who has a blog called "Mind Over Batter," explains how to create a mason jar salad.
The first step is to make a homemade dressing, which will last for about a week in the refrigerator. Then add hearty vegetables that will not break down in the salad dressing, including cucumbers, tomatoes and chickpeas. The last step is add greens, such as spinach.
Cover the contents up in the jar, and when you are ready to eat your salad, just pop open the top and pour it all in a bowl. The dressing on the bottom of the mason jar will automatically cover the rest of the contents.
