A rally held in Ossining on Saturday demanded Gov. Kathy Hochul help New Yorkers struggling with affordability.
Demonstrators and the grassroots organization Citizen Action of New York called on the governor to include what they call "progressive revenue" in the state budget by raising taxes on the wealthiest New Yorkers.
"People in New York state are hurting. People are relying on our government to protect us in a time of chaos. Governor Hochul has refused to raise taxes on the rich. We're going to face cuts to things like health care, we're not going to be able to pay for things like child care and transportation. That's what's driving so many New Yorkers out of this state," said Isaiah Fenichel, of Citizen Action of New York.
News 12 reached out to Hochul's office for comment on the concerns raised at the rally but had not heard back as of Saturday evening
