A charred shell is what's left after a fast-moving fire ripped through a house in Orange County.
Fire officials say flames broke out around 7 p.m. at the home at 19 Lake Trail in Greenwood Lake. The two-story home became completely engulfed by the flames and collapsed.
Forty firefighters were needed to put the fire out. Greenwood Lake Assistant Fire Chief Mike Dunlop says the home's location made it a difficult fire to extinuish. "We're on a mountainside [with a] narrow road, hydrants are spaced out so it takes longer. The closet hydrant was about 700 feet away."
The homeowners were not home at the time. No injuries have been reported
Officials the fire does not look suspicious, but it is still under investigation.
